What kinds of handyman projects do you handle?
Common work includes drywall and door repair, trim and cabinet adjustments, shelving and wall mounting, furniture assembly, deck and railing repairs, pressure washing, gutter cleaning, rental punch lists, dryer vent cleaning, battery-powered smoke-alarm mounting, and other non-regulated home or property maintenance.
Do you work in Bentonville, Bella Vista, and Rogers?
Yes. Bentonville Handyman Co serves Bentonville, Bella Vista, Rogers, and selected nearby Northwest Arkansas communities. The project address, access, scope, and scheduling needs determine availability.
How does the Arkansas $2,000 residential threshold work?
Arkansas residential contractor rules include an exemption when the cost of the work does not exceed $2,000. The value of the complete project matters, and a larger project should not be divided into smaller contracts to avoid licensing requirements. Separate trade-license and permit rules can still apply even on a small project.
Does staying under $2,000 mean a handyman can perform electrical or plumbing work?
No. The residential contractor threshold does not override separate electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or other specialty-trade licensing rules. We do not advertise general electrical wiring, hardwired light-fixture or ceiling-fan work, plumbing fixture replacement, pipe alteration, HVAC service, or other work that belongs with a properly licensed trade professional.
What electrical work is outside your advertised handyman scope?
New wiring, new circuits, hardwired fixture or ceiling-fan work, panel work, outlet relocation, and similar electrical services are not part of our advertised handyman scope. Arkansas rules contain limited specific exemptions, but when electrical scope is unclear we route the work to a qualified electrician rather than expanding a handyman project into regulated electrical work.
What plumbing work is outside your advertised handyman scope?
We do not advertise faucet replacement, new plumbing fixtures, pipe rerouting, water-heater work, gas piping, or other regulated plumbing installation. Minor maintenance may sometimes fall within narrow exemptions, but anything that involves plumbing-system alteration or uncertain licensing belongs with a qualified plumber.
Can I send project photos before scheduling?
Yes. The site-wide request form accepts one project photo, and you can also text photos. Photos help us identify materials, access, visible damage, likely scope boundaries, and whether another licensed trade should be involved before a visit is scheduled.
How does the estimate process work?
Start with the project location, a concise description, photos when useful, and your preferred timeframe. We review the information, ask follow-up questions when needed, and determine whether the project can be quoted from the information provided or needs an on-site visit.
Do you handle commercial property maintenance?
Yes. Suitable small commercial repairs, office furniture, fixture and display mounting that does not involve regulated trades, punch lists, and property-maintenance work may be available for offices, storefronts, vendors, and facility teams.
Where can I verify Arkansas licensing requirements?
For residential contractor licensing, use the Arkansas Contractors Licensing Board. Electrical licensing is administered through Arkansas electrical authorities, and plumbing licensing resources are maintained by the Arkansas Department of Health. Local cities and counties may also have permit or inspection requirements.
